The hardest part of moving into your new apartment (or first apartment!) is finding stylish apartment living room furniture that not only fit into your space, but are reasonably priced as well! In this section, I'm showing you my top apartment furniture ideas for the living room that I think are worth investing in if you're trying to achieve a stunning, but practical apartment design.
1. Sofa
One of the most important items you'll buy for your new / first apartment is a sofa. This is the most stunning sectional sofa I've ever seen, it's from West Elm. It's high quality, comfy & just the right size for any type of apartment!

If you're anything like me, you want to create a breathtaking living room. With this coffee table from Overstock, you'll be able to bring such a strong focal point to life in your living room! Nobody will be able to take their eyes off of your apartment living room design!
You'll also be able to store some of your stuff under this cute apartment size coffee table, so that's another plus!

It provides you with just enough storage for all your stuff, you probably won't be able to fill the shelves up!
4. Armchairs

03. Apartment living room gadgets & accessories
Is a living room REALLY a living room if you can't use to unwind? I don't think so either! So that's why I've gathered all of my top picks for apartment living room gadgets & accessories here, so that you can go ahead & build your own, high-quality entertainment system effortlessly!
1. TV & TV holder
The most vital part of your new apartment entertainment system is the TV. The Roku TV from Walmart ensures with its stunning 4K visuals & easy-to-use remote control that you have the most unforgettable time each time you sit down to watch your favourite show!
If you happen to have a TV already, but it's an LED one, I advise you get the Monoprice Cornerstone Series TV wall-mount bracket! This is honestly such a steal for this price! And it's also super flexible, so if you have to, you can easily mount your TV into a corner as well!
2. Speakers
What entertainment system is complete without a proper speaker set? Personally, I like sound bars more, because they are more stylish, so that's why I've picked the Bose Home Theater Sound Bar for you!
It's honestly so beautiful, it'll look much better on your TV stand than a regular speaker set. I find them very tacky.
3. Router
Of course, you can't forget to bring a WiFi rounter with you either! They are one of the most important apartment essentials, especially if you can't go days or weeks without WiFi, so that's why I just NEEDED to mention them on this apartment essentials list!
It doesn't matter if you're moving alone, or with someone else, the Linksys AC1200 Dual Band WiFi 5 Router is strong enough for your everyday needs! It's a great choice for just starting out, I think.
4. Cable management box
Now that you have SOO many cables, you gotta start thinking about how you'll organize them. But even if you don't have any electronics to bring into your new apartment, I suggest you get a cable management box either way! It'll come in handy when you start expanding your line of apartment appliances & devices.
This is such a cute choice from Temu! It's simple & won't bother the eyes, but it also has a seriously pretty design! I know, looks aren't everything, so here's everything you need to know when it comes to functionality: it'll organize your cables nicely & hides the cord mess from the eyes, contributing to an organized design.
5. Extension cord
Extension cords can be life-changing! At least they were for me. That's exactly why they are on this list. You'll never know when you'll need them. This is a basic, wallet-friendly choice from Target that COULD be a great investment!

3. Set of printables
One of the most useful decor items on this apartment essentials list to get is a set of printables! You can use them in very versatile ways: they make the walls above your sofa, your decorative tray, your floating shelves, even your bathroom walls look SO SO good!
This minimal, abstract set from Etsy is honestly such a work of art! Since there are only neutral colors & high-contrast elements, you can decorate your apartment living room in a very simplistic, but prominent way!
4. Floor lamp
You'll need some kind of illumination for your apartment living room! If I had 1 choice, I'd probably go with the Montage 60" LED Arched Floor Lamp! The golden finish just makes it much more elegant & will make that awkward empty corner next to your sofa much more appealing! But what's more important, is that it'll provide you with just enough illumination for whatever you're doing: reading, journaling or working.

I suppose that if you have laundry to do in your new apartment, you'll also want to iron those clothes as well.
This high-quality Rowenta iron from Dillard's feels like it was made for apartment living! It does the job seamlessly, but it's also super lightweight & easy to store! This iron is actually SOO genius, it fine-tuned heat & steam distribution, has a self-clean system that gets rid of hard minerals from the water, AND it turns of automatically if you leave it on your clothes for too long.
Pair it with this super simple IKEA ironing board for best results! This board is actually so thin! You'll be able to fit it into every tiny corner, but I actually store mine in the closet.
These are not neccessities when you first move in, but I highly recommend you get them ASAP! You'll need them later, so I recommend that you go no more than 1 week without these:
- Microfiber cloths
- Mold & mildew remover
- Steamer
- Disinfecting wipes
- Drying vent cleaner kit
